I had been shopping for a gas grill and wanted an infrared model. I walked into my local Sears hometown store and walked into a great deal on the grill I wanted. I took it home and cooked steaks that looked and tasted just like I'd gone out to my favorite steak place. Grill marks and perfect doneness on the steaks and a smile on my face. Awesome grill!

Saw a lot of complaints about the grates, but let me tell you this cooks everything perfect and sears steaks awesome! Every few months, depending on usage, I run the grates in the oven on the clean cycle and it burns off all the excess. I also spray canola oil on the grates before I light it and after it cools. (helps keep away rust and seasons grates)

Very solid made and should last for 5+ years at least. The special grill design keeps meat juicy or at lease not easy to get over cooked. We have been comparing grills at otehr lcoal chain stores and found that this one is the best deal around. We even get this assembled with no extra charge and instant delivery. Thanks to SEARS who though of keeing assembled units in stock.

I bought this grill back in June, used it once and decided to send it back. The grills are too hard to clean and they are a pain in the neck to maintain. If you are like me I like to also cook items on the top rack of the grill, there is not enough space to put anything on the top rack, so it is basically useless, I wound up taking it out. I bought the grill because of how it was advertised, infrared being the best way to cook, but I prefer the old fashion burger on the grate any day.

This is a 4 tube type steel burners capable of reaching 700 degrees farenheit and is convection heat from the burners. Tru-Infrared ceramic burners are capable of 1600 degrees farenheit and will quickly heat up within a couple of minutes. It will cook you food twice as fast as a conventional gas grill. This gas grill is competitively priced as a conventional gas grill and not a Tru-Infrared grill.

Cooks quickly, evenly. All four thermometers register over 700 degrees on full on. How can you not like it. Assembly took about 2 hrs, instructions were simple and clear. It's a nice unit and the price quite fair.

Before buying a new grill, we researched the ratings in Consumer Reports, and saw that the Char-Broil grill rated a best buy, was the same size we were looking for and in the price range. We had it assembled by Sears, and we couldn't be more happy with it.

When I first noticed this grill in a Sears store near where I live, It's design struck me as very functional. I was looking for a replacement of my older Char-Broil Commercial grill that had Stainless steel grates that were splitting and no longer available as a service part. It also had brass burners which I liked because the area where I live is near the ocean, and the typical grade of SS they use in grills do not seem to last long in our area. The assembly of this new grill was somewhat of a chore, taking me about 5 hours to do. Being over 60 and handicapped didn't help any either. If I had to do it over again, I would have gone to Lowe's and purchased a fully assembled one instead. Since I had worked for Sears in the past as one of their servicemen, I was familiar with putting things together and after reading the manual, changed the order of a few steps which may save others some time and aggravation. When you get to step 12 (inserting the front brace under control panel) skip ahead to step 15 and connect the wires from the burner electrodes and switch to the back of the Electronic ignition module, then go back to step 12. On step 13 note that one screw will be used to attach both one side of the tank heat shield as well as the left grease tray rail. On step 14 before putting on the doors, I installed and connected the gas cylinder and after installing the grills I fired up the burners and checked the flame controls, and a pretty blue flame that was fully adjustable greeted me there. On step 16 when installing the heat diffusers, be careful not to damage the thermocouple on the temperature gauges as I suspect they are not very accurate to begin with. When testing with my infrared thermometer I noticed as much as 200 degrees difference from the cooking grates to what the thermometers were telling me. With that being said, I was able to cook 5 steaks at once in a shorter amount of time than on my old grill and they turned out great. Be sure to follow the procedure for "seasoning" the grill grates and clean them off while they are still warm and apply cooking oil to them when cool to protect and preserve them. The tiny holes in the grating do clog very easily, and expect higher maintenance on this grill design than you may be used to with previous grills. I also believe that you will be rewarded with more even cooking, fewer flare ups and faster cooking times than you were used to. It would be interesting to see what Consumer reports say after testing this grill.

But the cost of converting to natural gas at the home costed $335.00!!! - Yes, that is three hundred thirty five dollars by Arunel Cooling & Heating - brought the convert kit but took them over 2.5 hours to put the little screws on the front handles.
