Powerful Camera at a Great Price

Photography has been a hobby of mine for many years now. Not having reached a "professional" level I wasn't comfortable spending thousands of dollars on a camera, but at the same time wanted to be able to take professional quality pictures. The Rebel T3 fits my needs perfectly. Still loaded with features and options, it's easy to understand and use. The battery life is much better than I ever would have expected, and so far it seems extremely durable. I highly this camera to anyone looking for a high quality DSLR while also on a budget.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Very good choice for starter DSLR

I have used Sony cameras for years and was very pleased with the performance I got from the cyber-shot cameras I used. When I was ready to step up to a DSLR camera, I was not sure I wanted to switch to another maker. The Canon EOS T3i was an excellent choice as the cost was within my budget. I am so far quite pleased with the camera. I have found it easy to use and I am happy with all the features.

You don't need to buy more lenses!

Typical buyer of this camera does not make a living by photography. The lens that comes with the camera is an excellent choice in respect of focal length (equal to 27mm to 85mm on film SLRs). Most photos could be taken at 27mm to squeeze in more of the background (clouds, mountains, even streets or buildings) to make it unusual to our eye (without noticeable distortion on people's faces). This will distinguish your photos from "snap shot" quality photos. People would love your photos without knowing why. On the other end of the spectrum, you can use the equivalent of 85mm to take portraits (it is enough to blur the background enough). To bring in distance OBJECTS closer and closer is kind of childish and soon becomes boring (we want a camera to take picture of people, not a bird at a distance). Who needs to carry another lens, while the one coming with it is sufficient for about 98 percent of the occasions (outings, birthdays, parties, picnics, etc) (with people in them!). To carry a camera bag (with, now, 2 lenses) discourages you about taking it to as many occasions as possible. The lens that comes w/camera is a smart choice.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great Camera

Received this as a Christmas Gift to replace my precious Rebel Film Camera. Still have that as well. The DSLR T3 is compatible and this is what I liked since having multiple lenses. This was an important feature. The one feature I wish this camera would have is a the ability to hold a second battery similar to the T3i. Other than this, it is a remarkable camera. Picuture quality is excellent with 12.2 MP. I typically shoot landscape photography as a hobby. Never dissapointed. I have shot wildlife as well and have gotten the clarity I wanted. This is a great starter DSLR for the hobby / enthusiast. I don't think I'll trade it in, but will definiately look at the Mark 5 in the future. I truly like the adability with multiple lenses. This is what makes Canon a remarkable product!

Easy to Use

I like the ease of use of this camera. The only thing I would like to have added to the camera is simpler set of instructions for some of the more unconventional functions.

Extremely long battery life

I bought this for my college graduation. However this end up to be my travel mate. Extremely long battery life. I charged the battery for my 2 weeks trip and battery last throughout the trip. Actually it last for almost 2 months! Excellent image quality. I can live with its ISO 3200 Very easy to use control and button. The 50mm F1.8 lens is a must buy. Excellent in low light, sharp, and awesome bokeh! The only drawback is its low resolution screen, but that's OK with its price range. May be Canon use this to save power for its long battery life! The Red and Brown color T3 look pretty nice! Too bad I already had the black one.....

Great Camera For A Rookie

We bought the Rebel T3 1100D kit and added the 75-300MM lens about a week ago. We wanted a decent camera, but also wanted something that would take good photos of our back yard birds. We know next to nothing about DSLR cameras,so we researched before we bought and also went through the manual during the first day while charging the battery. The first day we got photos of a robin in the bird bath and the image is so clear that the water is captured on the inmate as droplets instead of streaks. Most of the technical jargon is a mystery to us, but we're able to pick up on the basics of taking pictures. We think we could have gone with a competitor and been fine, but we're more than pleased with what we ended up with.
