Create a more supportive sleeping environment with bed box springs from Kmart

If you find yourself tossing and turning at night, you might be walking around feeling like a zombie all day. Upgrading your bed could do wonders in changing the way you look and feel. One of the most important aspects of a bed is how supportive it is, because an unsupportive bed will leave you uncomfortable and possibly sore. Mattresses get all the attention, but much of the support in your bed comes from the box spring and mattress foundation. Make sure to take time to pick out the right box spring for you, because your sleep is worth it.

Box springs are the same size as your mattress and sit directly underneath it. Like their name implies, they traditionally contained little springs, coils or steel flex rods inside to provide support and absorb shock. However, many box springs do not contain actual coils. They are more likely to be a solid box made out of steel or wood, which work better with memory foam mattresses. Whichever one you go with, you need one or the other to keep your mattress flat and prolong its lifespan. If you were to put your mattress directly on top of your bed frames, it would start to sag and bow.

Choose a box spring that gives good support and is the correct size and height. Another benefit to box springs is that they raise your mattress higher off the ground, making it easier to get in and out of bed. While some people find them unattractive, it's easy enough to cover them up with a nice bed skirt. Decorative bed skirts run around the entire bed frame to hide the foundation and make your bed more attractive.

If you sleep with a partner in a queen- or king-sized bed, consider getting yourself a split box spring. What this means is that you'll have two different box springs under the mattress, so that any movement on one side of the bed won't move the other side of the bed as much. This is a feature that you'll both come to appreciate in time. After all, what good is a comfortable mattress with warm decorative bedding if you keep waking each other up at night?

Buying a new bed is a big investment, but a worthwhile one. If your back feels sore in the morning, or if you're waking up in the middle of the night, a new supportive box spring can help you feel more rested. The support from a mattress foundation may also help to prevent sagging and bowing, so your new mattress lasts longer. Shop at Kmart for a trusted source of mattress foundations that will leave you happily snoring away.
